Big news, friends
Last week, eight retired general and flag officers sent a letter ([link removed]) to President Biden urging him to designate Castner Range, which is part of the U.S. Army’s Fort Bliss, as a National Monument. Will you join them?
As Major General (Ret.) Paul Eaton said, “Ensuring we permanently protect the irreplaceable landscape, history, and cultural sites at Castner Range for future generations is a civic and patriotic undertaking.”

Campaigns like this are nothing new to us. We were there urging President Obama to create Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monuments. We were there pushing back against President Trump’s efforts to sell off our public lands to the highest bidder. And we’re proud to be part of the ever-growing effort to see West Texas’s Castner Range permanently protected as a National Monument.
This shouldn’t be surprising to anyone. As the letter states: “Wherever one finds an effort to protect our wild spaces, one will find a veteran lending their voice to those efforts.”
We’re proud to be part of this effort. Will you join us?

Last year, President Biden released his America the Beautiful initiative which, among other things, calls for the conservation of 30% of America’s lands and waters by 2030. President Biden has made progress, but more must be done – by all of us. Designating Castner Range as a National Monument will ensure this pristine landscape, along with military and cultural heritage sites, endangered species, and scientific wonders are permanently protected.
Tell President Biden to use the Antiquities Act to protect Castner Range as a National Monument.
