Dear John,
A dozen red roses for Valentine's Day
costs, on average, over $42.
A date with dinner for two, a bottle
of wine and a movie costs, on average, more than $100.
I ask you to please think about that,
since Valentine's Day is tomorrow.
Then think about what really matters
most for ourselves and the people we love - that's our health,
our future and our lives.
That's why a gift to help end
Alzheimer's disease is a gift of love. Please support the Alzheimer's
Association today with a Valentine's Day gift. Between now and
February 28, you can have 2X the impact on advancing vital research
and helping to provide quality care and support during our

This opportunity is thanks to our
friends at the Lily Pointe Family Foundation, who've pledged their
matching gift to support local care consultation services.
When you join this challenge, your
gift - in any amount up to $50,000 - can be matched to
advance our mission to lead the way to end Alzheimer's and all other
dementia - by accelerating global research, driving risk
reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and
support.

You may even choose to make your
donation a tribute gift in the name of someone you love, like a
neighbor, coworker or friend who's been affected by Alzheimer's. What
a wonderful way to honor them - and a wonderful way to show that
you're committed to a healthier future for us all.

Often, when we think about the risk of
Alzheimer's, we think of the statistics.
Today, there are more than 6 million
people living with Alzheimer's in the United States and more than 50
million worldwide.
These numbers are expected to
skyrocket to a projected 13 million and 152 million, respectively, by
2050 - an alarming rate that will put more lives at risk and
increase the financial and emotional strain on families and
caregivers.
However, when Alzheimer's affects
someone we love, it isn't about statistics at all. It's about the pain
of seeing the person you care so much about slip away from you and
feeling powerless to change that.
But you aren't powerless. And you're
not alone. We are in this fight together until the day we realize our
vision of a world without Alzheimer's and all other dementia.

A dozen roses is a beautiful gift, but
they soon wilt. A dinner for two can be special, but it ends all too
soon.
An investment in research, care and
support, however, can help to achieve a healthier and more hopeful
future. Giving to the Alzheimer's Association really is an act of
love.
