The father of a Newburgh boy who starved to death in the care of another person has pleaded guilty to criminally negligent homicide.

Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler announced Friday that Arturo Cuacuas, 54, of Newburgh, pleaded guilty Wednesday to the felony charge in connection with the death of his son Peter.

Cuacuas has agreed to cooperate in the prosecution of the boy's primary caregiver, Leticia Bravo, 39, of Newburgh, who is facing several felony charges, including second-degree murder.
