Add your name: abortion is healthcare. Let’s tell the Senate we need to protect reproductive freedom.

Welch for Vermont

Hello,

It’s been almost 50 years since the landmark decision in Roe v. Wade, declaring abortion a right protected by the Constitution. Today, we’re seeing unprecedented assaults on this ruling by Republicans in states across the country.

That’s why it’s so important we keep control of the Senate and elect a progressive like Peter — someone who has been steadfast in his effort to protect the constitutional right to an abortion. Peter was an original co-sponsor of the Women’s Health Protection Act, which would codify Roe v. Wade into law, protecting reproductive freedoms across the country. It passed the House.

But now, it’s held up in the Senate. Mitch McConnell and his Republican Senate colleagues have fought to prevent it from even getting a vote. We need to have our voices heard, and loudly.

Let’s send a message to lawmakers in Washington — it’s time to pass the Women’s Health Protection Act.

In states like Texas, Florida, Oklahoma and too many others, Republican lawmakers have passed – and continue to introduce – anti-abortion legislation restricting reproductive rights. With the Senate split 50-50 and a conservative Supreme Court, we cannot afford to lose a single seat. There is too much on the line to let Republicans take back the Senate.

For Peter, this fight is about guaranteeing reproductive healthcare for people everywhere, no matter where you live, no matter what. That’s why taking immediate action is so critical — we don’t have any time to waste.

If you’re ready to fight alongside Peter to protect reproductive rights across Vermont the country, add your name now. Let’s tell the Senate to do what’s right.

Thank you for taking action,

Team Welch
