John, when I took office as Governor of Connecticut, our state had a $3.7 billion deficit.
Three years later Connecticut has a $1.5 billion surplus, more families are moving into our state, and we’re prepared to cut car and property taxes for working and middle-class families, retirees, and people with student loans.
As Connecticut emerges from the pandemic stronger than ever, it’s time to put money back in people’s pockets. It’s time to lower healthcare costs for families and small businesses, reduce prescription drug prices, create good-paying jobs, make record investments in our schools and infrastructure, and make sure every community is safe and equitable.
That’s the Connecticut difference, John. We still have a long way to go, but I’m looking forward to continuing moving Connecticut forward with you.
The truth is, I can’t do this work alone — I’ll be counting on our Democratic state House and Senate majorities to help me get the job done, and on our Congressional delegation to continue advancing historic legislation like last year’s bipartisan infrastructure bill.
That’s what makes the Connecticut Democratic Party’s work this year so important. November’s elections will be here before we know it, and Democrats in races big and small across Connecticut will need their organizing infrastructure in the months ahead.
Will you donate $10 today to help them support Democrats up and down the ballot as we prepare for November’s election? Any amount you give will help ensure that every Democratic candidate in our state has the support they need this year.
Thanks for supporting Democrats, and let’s continue making the Connecticut difference every day.
— Governor Ned Lamont
