Africa & Europe
Pray for our team in Kenya as they await a judgment in the Mavoko 3 Case. This is the case against four police officers and a civilian for the murder of Willie, Joseph and Josephat (an IJM staff member, client and trusted driver respectively). After a long five years and eight months, this trial came to a close with final arguments from both parties. Pray for peace in the 60-day waiting period before the judgement is issued, especially for the family and friends of the victims, and for justice to resound.
Latin America
The IJM Bolivia team has felt called to pray specifically for the Sentencing Court in El Alto City, Bolivia. The team is asking that the Lord provide judges with wisdom and a heart for justice on behalf of survivors.
South Asia
Praise God for a string of successful rescue operations led by our police partners in South Asia. In one of our project areas, we work closely with the Railway Protection Force, who are first responders for crimes like trafficking that frequently happen on trains. Recently, they completed 25 rescue operations to protect 43 children! Praise God for this independent action from these well-trained officers, and pray they would see continued success as they keep their community safe.
Southeast Asia
Praise God that a Brisbane court has sentenced a 57-year-old man to eight years in prison for sexual abuse and online sexual exploitation of children in the Philippines! In 2019, five children were rescued and removed from further harm from this man. Praise God that justice has been achieved in their case and that this criminal has been held accountable for his actions. Please pray for these children as they continue on the road of healing and for the end of impunity in crimes against children.
