It's time for something different from politics as usual -- that's why I'm running for Congress.

Growing up, my father always told me: "Help others, do the right thing, and most of all, always keep your head up high." These are the words I have built my foundation on. Right now, Florida needs an agent of change who is ready to redefine what it means to stand tall for the community -- not the powerful, and not big corporations or special interests. But for the people. People just like you and me.

I am running for Congress to make a real difference in people's lives. Because here in Florida, there's just so much on the line, and too much at stake to keep accepting the bare minimum from politicians.

"Too much at stake" sounds cliché, but the fact of the matter is that too much is truly at stake. Health care, abortion rights, voting rights, and racial equity and justice are all on the line.

John, thank you for becoming a part of Team Rayner. We've got a lot of work to do. But before we dive in, I'd love for you to get to know me a little better. Will you take a moment to watch my campaign video?

Too many of our neighbors, family, and friends in the 13th district of Florida are working two and three jobs just to make ends meet. All the while, the Republican party's been busy putting their own partisan agenda ahead of what our working families have long needed.

What about families that worry about clean air and water and the impacts of climate change? What about seniors who depend on Social Security and Medicare systems that work? What about workers that've been deemed essential throughout the entire pandemic struggling to put food on the table?

I'm not in this race for power, and I'm certainly not in this for the title. I'm in this for my community. For my people. Putting people first is what my family taught me, and that’s why I'm running for Congress.

In the face of their attempts to bully us into submission, I will always stand up to Republicans. The bigotry, the lies, and the overall tarnishing of our democracy is not a fight I'm willing to back down on -- and I hope you won't either, John.
