Last week, Derek proudly voted to pass the America COMPETES Act of 2022 through the House. Along with ensuring our economy stays competitive globally, this legislation will make key investments in clean energy and climate action.

Listen, rebuilding our economy and protecting our environment go hand in hand. We can't move forward on one issue without addressing the other. President Biden's Build Back Better agenda aims to address the climate crisis with bold solutions, and the America COMPETES Act is another step in the right direction.

The America COMPETES Act will:

- Invest in solar energy by strengthening solar manufacturing supply chains and grid resilience.

- Improve environmental standards to protect our ocean and wildlife by investing to fight illegal fishing and to protect our reefs.

- Strengthen our global partnerships to advance clean, renewable energy and help nations prepare for the impacts of climate change.

Our communities in Washington State are already experiencing the devastating effects of climate change every single day. We need to take immediate action to combat the climate crisis, and Derek is leading the fight in Congress.
