Dear Friend,

Have you noticed a coordinated attack building against transgender children in state legislatures across the South and Midwest? Five of URGE’s investment states are wasting their taxpayers’ dollars on attempts to legalize transphobia by nefariously targeting transgender children. This year, Georgia and Alabama both have 5 anti-trans bills on the docket. Kansas and Ohio each have 3.  In 2021, Texas took up 5 anti-trans bills during the state’s regular and special legislative sessions.

This despicable expression of white supremacy is being promoted by transphobic legislators who are targeting vulnerable transgender children, more specifically transgender girls because they fear people who reject the gender binary. The status quo is changing as more young people than ever before are coming out as queer and trans. They realize that there is nothing they can do to legislate against trans adults seeking gender-affirming care or community support, so they are targeting trans children.

URGE is fighting these anti-trans bills at the Alabama, Ohio, and Georgia legislatures. We only have one State Policy & Movement Building Director per state currently fighting oppressive legislation like anti-trans bills, anti-abortion bills, and propaganda-driven anti-critical race theory bills. They need your support, and we need more resources to fight these harmful bills even harder.

First name or "Friend", will you gift us $10 help us reach our goal of $10,000 to support our Policy team in fighting these bills? We need 1000 supporters to help us meet our goal. Help us make it happen. <[link removed]>
