Last Friday, the Republican National Committee (RNC) censured GOP Rep. Liz Cheney and Rep. Adam Kinzinger for participating in the House Investigation of the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol.
 
Yet the RNC censuring their own for seeking the truth is not as alarming as their misrepresentation of the events that occurred that day as "legitimate political discourse." That should be alarming to every American.
 
Friends, Stacey and several other members of Team Plaskett were in the Capitol that day as a violent mob stormed the sacred halls of Congress, and as you watched the events unfold from wherever you were at, I think we can all agree that what occurred was far from “legitimate political discourse.”
 
Republicans know that the January 6 Committee is getting closer to the truth, and by censuring their own, they are signaling retaliation against anyone who participates in seeking the truth.
 
Team Plaskett is not intimidated by this and does not view the attack as “legitimate political discourse.” We wholly support the ongoing investigation on behalf of the January 6 Committee.
 
The midterm election is less than 9 months away. If Republicans win in November, they will shut down the committee and who knows what else they will call “legitimate” once in power. The time to unify is now. Will you join us in defending our House majority and ensure Democrats keep the House and the Committee finishes its work?
