House Democrats and Republicans agree on $57 billion USPS overhaul

"The vote on Tuesday has not thawed tensions between DeJoy and congressional Democrats, who are sparring anew over the Postal Service’s plan to replace its aging mail delivery fleet with up to 148,000 gas-powered vehicles, instead of electric trucks."

John,

Ever since Donald Trump appointed him to this position, Postmaster General Louis DeJoy has raised prices for Americans everywhere, slowed down our services in the middle of a pandemic, and attempted to sabotage mail-in voting. Now, he's trying to replace our aging fleet of gas-powered vehicles with another round of gas-guzzling trucks instead of clean, electric vehicles.

Mail delays have been one of the top issues that have caused Delawareans to contact Chris' office. Folks are getting statements after bills are due and even receiving life-saving medication weeks late. Postmaster General DeJoy promised to address these problems many months ago, but we still haven't seen progress.

Chris knows it's time to take action to restore the on-time delivery that millions of Americans rely on before more damage is done.

Earlier this week, a bipartisan majority in the House voted to pass The Postal Service Reform Act and ensure that the United States Postal Service can continue serving Americans from every zip code. This legislation will make the postal service more efficient, enhance transparency, and guarantee a six-day delivery system by saving nearly $50 billion within the next decade.

Today, will you join Chris in calling for the passage of The Postal Service Reform Act in the Senate?
