Subject: Our small businesses are suffering

Hi team,

As the grandson of an undocumented immigrant who became a naturalized citizen and built a successful small business with a dream of building a better life for his family, I’m especially proud to be a leader of a small technology company today.

Small businesses mean a lot to my family, but I also know from my personal experience how difficult it is to run a successful operation in today’s economic environment.

I’ve personally dealt with the challenges of foreign competition and supply chain interruptions, and I know firsthand the benefits and barriers created by government policy. Many of the issues facing small businesses today have been made even worse as a result of the COVID-19 public health crisis.

When the pandemic hit, my company – like many small businesses here in Bucks County and across the country – struggled to maintain a skilled workforce. I applied for PPP loans to help keep the lights on and our workers employed, so I know firsthand the struggles that so many of our businesses and workers endured during this tough time.

The bottom line is, our small businesses are suffering. I believe that my direct experience gives me a perspective, insight, and level of empathy for small business leaders that few in Congress can claim.

I want to hear directly from you: What do you think are the biggest issues facing small businesses today?
