John,
Do you know what lawmakers are saying about your pay?
"Our federal workforce serves with dedication and distinction every day. Federal employees are our government’s single greatest asset, and they deserve better." — Congressman Gerry Connolly
“Whether inspecting our food, conducting medical research, or caring for our veterans, federal workers play an important role in our everyday lives and deserve pay which reflects that.” — Senator Brian Schatz
Congressional leaders like Congressman Connolly and Senator Schatz don't just talk the talk. They've introduced H.R. 6398 and S. 3518 respectively, that aim to provide federal workers with a 5.1% pay raise in 2023. AFGE strongly supports these bills, also known as the Federal Adjustment of Income Rates (FAIR) Act.
We need your help to get this legislation to the finish line. Take 2 minutes to email your lawmaker and ask them to cosponsor the FAIR Act!
The last few years have been tough for everyone. Through it all, federal and D.C. government workers showed up every day to serve the American public during the COVID-19 pandemic – all while risking their own health and that of their families.
And that is not to mention the other challenges facing feds the last few years: pay gaps and damage done to employees’ finances because of the furloughs, government shutdowns, and tiny adjustments that failed to keep up with inflation.
One of the easiest things Congress can do to show they value the outstanding work done by the federal workforce is to give a much deserved 5.1% pay raise in 2023.
Your lawmaker needs to hear from you! Contact them NOW and ask them to cosponsor this important legislation.
NOW is the time to unite, mobilize and act!
In Solidarity,
AFGE
