We’re just six weeks into the new year, but already the stakes for this year’s midterm elections have picked up.

Republicans came into the year with tens of millions of dollars at the ready to flood swing districts with attack ads and flip seats from blue to red. GOP leadership has even threatened retribution by removing Democrats like Ilhan Omar and Adam Schiff from their committee assignments if they win control of the House.

The final lines for November are being drawn as redistricting nears a completion across the country — California has already approved new maps, and I’ll be running in the newly drawn 12th District.

Our margins may be slim, but Democrats can win and hold our majorities in Congress this year if we harness the same grassroots energy that propelled us to victory in 2018 and 2020.
