I want to be direct with you. Emails like this are what drive the majority of our campaign’s fundraising.

When you read messages like this — when you see me or Faiz asking you in an email to make a contribution — it is because this is how we fund our campaign.

And so even though I don’t like asking people for money, sending emails is a lot better than asking rich people for money at fancy fundraising events.

Today I am writing you because our campaign has set a benchmark for the middle of this fundraising quarter. That is Friday at midnight. And we are slightly behind our goal. That is why I’m asking you to make a contribution to our campaign if you can:

Please make a contribution to our campaign today to help reach our goals halfway through this fundraising quarter. We would not ask if it were not incredibly important to the success of our campaign.
