MassGOP campaign training events generating a buzz ahead of nomination papers release MassGOP Chairman Jim Lyons: "Massachusetts voters may never see as many disastrous Democrat policies and issues before them as they're now seeing in 2022." Feb. 11, 2022 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CONTACT: Evan Lips, communications director 617-523-5005 ext. 245 WOBURN -- With just four days remaining until nomination papers are made available for candidates interested in running for legislative office, the Massachusetts Republican Party's campaign training sessions continue to be a big draw in cities and towns across the commonwealth, Chairman Jim Lyons said Friday. "Massachusetts voters may never see this many disastrous Democrat policies and issues before them as they're now seeing in 2022," Lyons said. "At every stop, we're hearing just how fed up people are with the mandates, the skyrocketing inflation, the leftist indoctrination happening in our public schools, and the Democrat-dominated Legislature's disinterest in doing anything about it. "These people are showing up out their concern and love for America." A recent event in Milford featured several candidates, including Norfolk Republican state Rep. Shawn Dooley, who recently launched a campaign for state Senate, and Julie Hall, a U.S. Air Force veteran running to represent Massachusetts' Fourth Congressional District. Emily Burns, a entrepreneur from Newton who is another GOP candidate campaigning to represent MA-CD4, has also made appearances at the party's campaign strategy events. Lyons said the sessions, which began in January in eastern Massachusetts and have been held in seven towns so far, will be spreading to western Massachusetts later this month. He expects to hold at least 35 more events across the state. The party's Jan. 29 event at Monument Beach Sportsmens Club in Bourne has been rescheduled for March 5 due to last month's nor'easter storm. The next event is happening Tuesday night (Feb. 15) in Watertown. The most recently updated schedule and a registration form can be accessed by clicking here. "We are laser-focused between now and election day in November," Lyons said. "People are hungry for an end to the Democrats' madness, and it's our job to provide them with an alternative." He pointed to recent developments on Beacon Hill, including the milestone Democrats' recently set marking the 700th straight day of the State House remaining off-limits to the public and this week's announcement that Democratic leadership will be holding a vote next week to grant drivers' license privileges to individuals who have illegally entered the country. "The Democrats' priorities are absolutely out-of-sync with what Massachusetts citizens are dealing with on an everyday basis," Lyons said. "Our events provide folks with a chance not only to voice their concerns, but to get involved and do something about them."
