John,It’s no secret Congressional Democrats are on the defense heading into the midterm elections. And one of those Democrats is SEEC Co-Chair Rep. Paul Tonko, representing New York’s 20th Congressional District.

But while redistricting may be changing the district landscape for Rep. Tonko, he’s continuing to tackle climate change and support renewable energy projects.

Recently, Rep. Tonko joined New York Governor Kathy Hochul and U.S. Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm at the Port of Albany to celebrate finalizing contracts for two offshore wind projects in New York.

The wind farms off the coast of Long Island will bring New York closer to achieving its goal of 9,000 megawatts of offshore wind energy by 2035 and a zero-emissions electricity sector by 2040.

Rep. Tonko is one of the biggest proponents of the emerging offshore wind market in Congress. It’s another example of SEEC members of Congress remaining focused on climate change and renewable energy priorities.

John, we can’t afford to lose Rep. Tonko or any other SEEC member from Congress. We must protect all our SEEC members in this challenging political environment. Will you take a moment to donate now to help defend our members this November? [[link removed]]

Thanks to your help in 2020, SEEC PAC was able to re-elect over 95% of our pro-environment members to the U.S. House of Representatives — defying the odds on a night where Democrats lost seats. Now we are counting on you to help our SEEC members pass climate, clean energy and environmental justice policies in the 117th Congress while we undo the damage of the Trump Administration.
