Team, I want to be upfront with you. This is going to be a longer email from me because the issue of immigration is extremely important to me.
I’m writing to you to talk about Republican Kari Lake’s immigration plan, which in reality, is not really a plan. It’s just a very open way for her to say she is willing to demonize and terrorize people to win votes.
It’s unacceptable!
Kari Lake’s plan is basically to take anyone she deems remotely qualified, give them authority she does not have, and set them loose in southern Arizona to round up anyone they believe may be an immigrant.
It’s racist, and it’s going to end up getting people hurt.
As someone who has been falsely accused, repeatedly and publicly, of not being a U.S. citizen, I know that Kari Lake’s plan will not only affect those trying to immigrate to the U.S. It will put a target on every non-white person in this state.
Arizona is not the same place it was a decade ago. We’ve come a long way from the “show me your papers” law, and
we’re not letting Kari Lake take us back.
