We all saw the headlines: After being briefed about the coronavirus in early 2020, several members of Congress bought and sold stocks to line their own pockets — all while downplaying the severity of the public health crisis.

It’s plain wrong, folks, and it erodes the public’s trust in our government. Members of Congress should be focused on delivering results for the people we were elected to serve, and not making decisions to enrich their own bank accounts.

I didn’t run for office to cozy up with big corporations or special interests, I ran because I love the state of Wisconsin and I’m determined to make a difference for the people who live there.

That’s why I’ve always stood up against those who want to use their positions of power for their own personal gain, and it’s why I’m proud to support the Ban Congressional Stock Trading Act, legislation to prevent members of Congress from buying and selling individual stocks.

As members of Congress, it’s our job to serve the people, not ourselves. If you’re with me, add your name to my petition demanding Congress pass the Ban Congressional Stock Trading Act. [[link removed]]

Thanks for standing by me on this critical issue.
