It’s no secret that CA-49 is a competitive swing district, and that dates back to when we flipped this seat in 2018. But thanks to this grassroots community, we successfully kept this seat blue in 2020.

As we head into another difficult election season, it’s not just important that we keep this seat blue once again -- it's how we do it that counts. I’m proud that after nearly 5 years of campaigning, we are still a grassroots-powered movement that doesn’t take a dime from corporate PACs. I’ve also never wavered on my values or watered down my policy positions.

This is still about making sure our community has an unwavering advocate for eliminating spent nuclear fuel at San Onofre. It’s still about standing up to polluters and demanding a ban on offshore drilling off our California coast. And it's about defending veterans’ benefits and pushing back against efforts to privatize the VA.

National Republicans are more emboldened than ever to take this seat. Four Republicans have already announced campaigns, and the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) has me listed as a “top target.”
