Investigating Surveillance Reports on Congress

On Tuesday, I sent a letter, along with 33 of my colleagues, to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and House Administration Committee Chairwoman Zoe Lofgren regarding recent reports that the U.S. Capitol Police have been monitoring Members of Congress, their staff, constituents, and supporters. If these reports are true, that the Capitol Police force is actively looking for and reviewing private information, then this is a gross violation of American civil liberties and an abuse of power. I’m calling on Speaker Pelosi and Chairwoman Lofgren to do what is best for the American people and look into this troubling report. Check out my full letter below:

Holding Mayorkas Accountable

In May, I sent a letter to Department of Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas requesting answers for why he was violating federal law by releasing illegal aliens into the interior of the United States. Eight months later, I finally received answers. Well, more like excuses. I sent a follow up letter to DHS on Wednesday demanding more information to fully understand the scope and process of the department's unlawful release of illegal aliens from their custody. We must hold Secretary Mayorkas accountable for his dangerous policies that have created the border crisis. Biden's Border Crisis

Speaking of the border, on Wednesday I hosted House Freedom Caucus’s Facebook Live where I spoke with former DHS Acting Secretary Chad Wolf and Townhall reporter Julio Rosas on the current crisis at our southern border and the crime wave that has hit communities across our nation. Everyday, the border crisis and the crime surge worsen under the Biden administration’s anti-America policies. Instead of reinstating policies that work, Biden is deflecting from the crisis with outlandish policies like handing out free crack pipes to substance abusers. Both Biden and his administration are showing spineless leadership and need to be stopped. Check out our full conversation below:

Border Security Caucus Meeting

At this week’s Border Security Caucus meeting, we were joined by Jorge Ventura from The Daily Caller to discuss his recent reporting at the southern border documenting human smuggling and his recent documentary 'Cartelville,USA' on drug cartels in California. As co-Chair of the Border Security Caucus, I am thankful for Jorge’s incredible work shedding light on the true humanitarian crisis that is happening at our border. Biden's Weakness Emboldens Putin

Joe Biden’s fecklessness as an international leader has destabilized the world and provided a pathway for Russia’s aggression against Ukraine. His weak style and the resulting turmoil are classic traits of Democrat Presidents who refuse to embody and promote America’s strength in the world. President Biden has emboldened our foreign adversaries through capitulation to their objectives and by placing American interests last. Time to Return to Work

Today, I introduced a bill, along with eight colleagues, called the Return to Work Act, which would require federal agencies to reinstate their telework policies used before the COVID-19 pandemic. The majority of Americans have returned to work. There’s no excuse for federal agencies to continue a strict telework schedule for their employees. By not coming to the office, federal agencies have created a backlog of service requests, which has prevented many Americans, especially our veterans, from receiving the service and care they need. Americans are deservedly frustrated that they are not receiving the services that are owed to them. It’s well overdue for our federal workers to join the rest of the workforce and return to the office. Check out my full bill below:
