Friends -
In 2005, Congress passed a law that made the gun industry immune from nearly all lawsuits, leaving families of gun violence victims without an avenue to seek justice.
However, this week, we’re seeing that begin to change.
The Supreme Court just ruled that Sandy Hook families will be allowed to continue their case against Remington.
The families say Remington should be held accountable, as the maker and promoter of the AR-15-style rifle used in the 2012 school shooting.
This is a big win for these families and strikes a major blow to the gun industry’s blanket immunity.
However, this fight isn’t over. We need the power of a grassroots movement to help ensure justice for these families and their loved ones.
This ruling means that no business is above the law or above accountability.
But you can bet the gun industry isn’t going to just give up without a fight.
That’s why we need a grassroots movement to be prepared to go head to head with them.
That starts with your signature today, so what do you say?
Thank you in advance for signing on,
The team at Giffords
