Dear John,
You’ve been fighting the carbon tax and your hard work is paying off: the Conservative Party just announced that it’s now opposing the carbon tax.
When he was running in the Conservative Party leadership campaign, Erin O’Toole signed the Canadian Taxpayers Federation’s pledge to “immediately repeal the Trudeau carbon tax; and, reject any future national carbon tax or cap-and-trade scheme.”
But just months before the last election, O’Toole flip-flopped and stuffed two carbon taxes into his platform. Yes two! Taken together, O’Toole’s carbon taxes would cost you an extra 27 cents per litre of gas.
Now the Conservative Party ditched O’Toole and his carbon tax.
You’ve been hammering both the Conservatives and Liberals to scrap the carbon tax. And some politicians are starting to feel your pressure.
You successfully pushed the Conservative Party to drop O’Toole’s carbon tax. But your fight isn’t over yet. You need to keep the pressure up.
You know politicians fold faster than lawn chairs. You need to make sure Conservative politicians keep fighting the carbon tax. And you need to keep pushing back against the Trudeau government’s carbon tax, which is increasing again in April.
Please email your member of Parliament and tell them to fight the carbon tax. To find your MP's contact information, please click this link: https://www.ourcommons.ca/members/en
Thanks for fighting for taxpayers – it’s making a difference!
Sincerely,
- Franco, Shannon, Todd and the rest of the CTF team.
