Every country is home to misogynists. But only our country allows and encourages men who hate women to heavily arm themselves.

John, we need to know what we're dealing with if we're going to end gun violence:

ELLE: "Research Shows Gun Violence And Misogyny Are Closely Linked. It’s Time To Make Sure Abusers Can't Buy Guns." by Shannon Watts, Feb. 1, 2022

I and many of my fellow Moms Demand Action volunteers have been the targets of misogyny since the moment we started fighting for gun safety. Now our latest research shows just how much the hatred of women thrives among far-right extremists. For them, it's not a flaw. It's a feature. It's a recruiting tool.

Read my op-ed in Elle to learn what we can do to fight this deadly combination of guns and misogyny.

At the start of the pandemic, calls to domestic violence hotlines increased as women and children were trapped at home with abusers.

Many mass shootings have also been perpetrated by people with misogynist views, in places like Atlanta, Georgia last year and Denver, Colorado just last month.

Every country is home to misogynists. But only our country's gun culture—and weak gun laws—allow and encourage men who hate women to heavily arm themselves.

We need action now. Read my op-ed about how we can stop gun violence fueled by misogyny.

We have a lot of work to do, but we will never back down in the face of men who hate us. Their anger at us only proves that we're winning.

Thank you for being a part of this movement. Together, we can save lives.
