Racial gerrymandering, now legal thanks to Trump’s Supreme Court, will limit the voting power of communities of color across the country.
This week, Trump’s Supreme Court crushed a key component of the Voting Rights Act. Chip in $3 to help our movement fight back »
First, a lower court ruled that Alabama had to redraw its blatant racial gerrymander because it took voting power away from communities of color. Then, on Monday, the Supreme Court overturned that decision, allowing Alabama’s racial gerrymander to stand.
Racial gerrymandering, now legal thanks to Trump’s Supreme Court, will limit the voting power of communities of color across the country. With Republicans introducing over 400 bills to restrict voting rights in state legislatures across the country, this blow to the Voting Rights Act endangers our democracy at a critical moment.
We have to restore balance to our democracy by ending the filibuster, expanding the Supreme Court, and passing voting rights legislation. Are you with me?
Chip in $3 or anything at all to fuel my advocacy for these three urgent policies we need to protect our democracy. The conservative Supreme Court and GOP insurrectionists are tearing away voting rights and the very foundations of our free and fair elections. We can’t waste any more time.
Chip in $3
Conservatives have waged an attack on the Voting Rights Act via the court for years. In 2013, the Supreme Court stripped away some of the protections and rights guaranteed by the Voting Rights Act that had been law since 1965.
If we do not use our majorities in the House and Senate to end the filibuster, expand the Supreme Court and pass new voting rights legislation, the right-wing will continue to weaken the Voting Rights Act.
Our democracy is on the line. Can you help me fight back with a $3 contribution today?
In solidarity,
Pramila
