John, I wanted to take a moment and introduce myself and share the great work of the New Pennsylvania Project, a voting rights organization with a primary focus on year-round voter registration that was founded in May 2021. We have an opportunity to bring more communities into the electorate, with a focus on Black, brown, and young voters.

So I got some folks together, and we started knocking on doors.

We knocked doors in places like Norristown, Montgomery County, Monroeville, Allegheny County, Carlisle, Cumberland County, and lower Bucks County this summer. We weren’t pushing any candidates or political party. We simply asked unregistered or infrequent voters what was on their mind. Their response? They were surprised that we weren’t pushing a political agenda on them but looking to understand why they weren’t engaging in a political process that is so clearly the path forward to making the Commonwealth a better place for everyone.

Since May of 2021, we’ve hit the ground running -- registering voters and laying grassroots infrastructure throughout Pennsylvania. This work is critical to ensuring that the people of Pennsylvania are represented by legislators who actually care about them and what they need.

Thanks to your support, we can knock on more doors, register more voters, and engage more people in our constitutional right to the American democratic process.

Thank you for standing in this fight with us.

In solidarity,

Kadida Kenner
Founding Executive Director

-----------------------------------------

The New Pennsylvania Project was founded in May 2021 to expand Pennsylvania’s electorate, so it reflects the Commonwealth’s demographically changing population. In the next four years, NPP will engage and empower young residents, and those living in underrepresented communities of color and immigrant communities. We will register them to vote, provide education about the issues that matter in their neighborhoods, and mobilize people to vote in every election.
