Please help by asking the Chancellor not to withdraw this funding before passenger numbers have been given a fair shot at recovery. Government messaging is an important part of this - they should first be encouraging people back on board before considering cutting our bus services, so vital for communities.
Buses can have a bright future. They can help tackle inequality and loneliness, cut traffic and pollution. But time is running out to save them. Bus operators need to provide a ten-week notice before changing a bus service, so they are making decisions right now about cutting services. The Chancellor urgently needs to make a clear statement that recovery funding will continue.
We have written a joint letter with organisations including Bus Users, CPRE and the WI, urging the Chancellor to keep this funding going. Please add your voice by emailing the Chancellor today using our quick form.
Thank you
Paul
