This annual festival takes Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths out of the lab and into our everyday lives. Itâs all about celebrating curiosity, asking questions, and finding out the answers. We've included highlights below, or check out the full festival listings...
There is a full programme of workshops for all ages with interactive experiments for kids and a great after-dark scene for adults. There is also a great festival magazine that contains event listings as well as fun facts and activities to keep children busy this half term.

Sat 12 February
Wollaton Hall
Many living things that shared the planet with dinosaurs are still around with us today. Come and meet 'our mutual friends'.
A team of scientist will tell you all about fungi, snails, horseshoe crabs, and other contemporaries of Titus the T. Rex, currently on display.
You can also have the opportunity to explore the Hall, its Natural History Museum, and meet Titus.

Broadway Cinema
This free, interactive installation is a place where fairy rings and science meet.
Young visitors will experience a space where sculptural mushroom forms tower above them.
Artist Roma Patel will lead you through the installation and you can create your very own clay fungi sculptures to take away.
50 minute workshops run between 10-4pm each day

Various venues
Thereâs plenty of science-based fun for kids of all ages this half term with workshops across the county. Why not build your own rocket and blast off, or drive into the future in your very own rocket car?
Budding scientists can make their very own virus, investigate the 3D world of COVID-19 tests, or create a Lava Lamp.
There's loads of science-based fun designed to entertain budding scientists of all ages.

Nottingham Lakeside Arts
This half term - there are some great kids' activities at Lakeside, themed around the Chinese New Year - Year of the Tiger.
Learn the ancient traditional art of brush painting with Feng-Ru Lee, or try Chinese calligraphy (To 30 March).
Discover how to tie a Chinese knot to encourage good fortune! or perhaps enjoy a session of Chinese lantern making, or join a childrenâs Lion and Dragon Dance workshop.

National Ice Centre
If you are inspired by the performances at the Beijing Winter Olympics then maybe try an Olympic Taster Session on the ice where the Team GB speed skaters train.
If you've never skated before, take intensive skating lessons to be flying around the rink in no time.

Looking for an unusual music experience? Post rock pairing Loki and Rôka are Nordic Giants. The band, formed in 2010 are an impressive live and recording act that has been described as akin to a religious experience

Looking for a post half term midwinter treat? Circus Zyair is back for 2022 with a brand new show, full of colour, action, and high energy acts from all over the world in a two hour spectacle.
The exciting line up includes a team of stunt bike riders from Colombia who defy the laws of gravity on the sensational and dangerous wheel of death, riding motorbikes in a 4m steel globe at over 70mph missing each other by inches!Â
The show takes place in a climate controlled theatre-style big top.
