Dear Friend,
[ [link removed] ]Next Monday, February 14, is Valentine’s Day. 😃 💕 Would you join
MomsRising that afternoon to help Cupid’s arrow spark some care
infrastructure LOVE into the hearts of our U.S. Senators? 💘
We’re doing this to remind U.S. Senators that parents are STILL waiting on
them to take action on Build Back Better (and to spark them to move change
quickly!). We’ll be meeting outside on Capitol Hill at 4pm to pass out
candy hearts and draw chalk-art masterpieces on the sidewalk right outside
the U.S. Capitol (where the Senators can see us). This is a powerful way
of lifting up the care infrastructure policies that families urgently
need, like: childcare and Pre-K, paid family/medical leave, home care, the
Momnibus, and a continuation of the monthly Child Tax Credit. There will
also be a small marching band and a choir!
YOU ARE NEEDED! Even just seven people gathering to do fun chalk art
outside the Capitol could make a GIANT difference in sparking the Senate
to take action on key policies that parents urgently need. So we very much
hope you join us.
[ [link removed] ]Please let us know if you’re considering coming to our fun, SAFE, and
powerful outdoor event! RSVP here & we’ll send you the exact outside
meet-up location.
**Everyone who comes will get to take their sidewalk chalk set and special
Valentine’s candy hearts home! Bring friends and family. It’s all
outdoors!
Valentine’s Day is the perfect day to make the point that we expect our
U.S. Senators to keep pushing forward the Build Back Better agenda. We’ll
be passing out (and also eating 😋) candy hearts with these care policies
inscribed on them: access to affordable quality childcare, paid family and
medical leave, a permanent expanded child tax credit, home- and
community-based services, and the Momnibus. We’ll also be expressing our
need for those policies via chalk art.
It’ll be late in the afternoon, after school, so kids can join the fun
too! Bring friends and family! The more of us who are there, the bigger
the power we’ll have as Senators walk by our art and candy stations.
Here are all the details:
* WHEN: 4pmET on Monday, February 14th (Valentine’s Day!)
* WHERE: Outside of the Russell Senate Office Building (2 Constitution
Ave NE, Washington, DC 20002). We’ll be meeting on the corner of
Delaware Ave NE and Constitution Ave NE outside the Russell Senate
Office Building. [[ [link removed] ]MAP]
* WHAT: MomsRising, a small marching band and choir, chalk art, candy
hearts, and more to lift the importance of not giving up on BBB

After not being able to gather together for so long because of the
pandemic, we designed this outdoor action very carefully so everyone can
feel comfortable enough to join – it’ll be outside and socially distant,
and everyone will be encouraged to wear masks.
And, with more than two years of pandemic separation, we can’t wait to see
you in-person again and fight together for the country we need for
everyone to thrive. And at this critically important moment, showing up
makes a difference as we build momentum towards a Senate vote on the Build
Back Better plan we’re told will happen in a few weeks.

Forward this email to anyone you know who needs care policies for their
families and communities, which is everyone! All are welcome to join us!
Thank you for continuing to fight, and we hope to celebrate Valentine’s
Day – and take action – together, with you, next Monday!
