CLASP is joined by 70 national, state, and local organizations in calling on Senate leadership and the Biden-Harris Administration to pass the Build Back Better (BBB) Act with a pathway to citizenship by any means possible, including by disregarding the parliamentarian’s opinion.

CLASP Leader Appointed to USDA Equity Commission

The U.S. Department of Agriculture today announced CLASP’s Elizabeth Lower-Basch as one of 15 members appointed to a newly formed Equity Commission. She and her colleagues will “provide recommendations to the Secretary on policies, programs, and actions needed to address equity issues, including racial equity issues, within the Department and its programs.”

Pathways to Prosperity: Promoting Economic Security for Families with Infants and Toddlers

The report, co-authored by CLASP and ZERO TO THREE, was derived from an October 2021 convening of the Building Strong Foundations for Families project. It includes emergent themes from the convening, session details, and resources to provide additional guidance to early childhood stakeholders on supporting the economic security of families.

On February 18, Whitney Bunts will present at the Ending Unsheltered Homelessness: Strategies and Policies that Work virtual conference hosted by the National Alliance to End Homelessness. She will co-present in a session titled “What Should Law Enforcement Mean for Unsheltered People of Color,” explaining the effectiveness of police-free mobile response.

 

On February 23, CLASP will join Catholic Legal Immigration Network, Inc. (CLINIC) and the National Immigration Law Center to co-host a webinar, “DHS Protected Areas Policy: What Advocates and Providers Need to Know.” The session will outline key provisions of the policy and highlight actions advocates and providers can take to ensure the policy is effectively implemented across the country.
