Every 10 years, congressional districts are redrawn based on updated Census data on population changes. The New Jersey Congressional Redistricting Commission approved new districts for our state, and as we head full-steam into the election year, the 11th District will look different than it did in 2018 and 2020.
The new map adds more of Montclair and Bloomfield into our district along with Glen Ridge, South Orange, Maplewood, Belleville, Millburn, and Dover. And we lose West Orange, Caldwell, Verona, Essex Fells, Mendham Borough, Bloomingdale, Wanaque, Pompton Lakes, North Haledon, Sparta, Byram, Hopatcong, Ogdensburg, and Stanhope.
With these changes come new voters who have never seen Mikie on the ballot and may not be familiar with her work for New Jersey. We need to talk to them about Mikie and what she’s doing in Congress to improve the everyday lives of New Jerseyans -- from fixing the SALT deduction cap to advancing the Gateway Tunnel project.
There’s no doubt we have a lot of work ahead of us, but this grassroots team is no stranger to challenges and seeing tough races through.
But we need to stay vigilant, because six opponents are seizing this moment as their chance to replace Mikie in the House.
Your contributions have a direct impact on our campaign and our ability to execute our voter outreach efforts and respond to attacks from our opponents. Please chip in any amount you can to help us prepare for 2022.
