You’re receiving this email because of your commitment to progressive causes. Wisconsin will determine Senate control, and we need your help to defeat Republican Senator Ron Johnson. If you no longer wish to receive key race updates, unsubscribe here, but we hope you decide to join us and help flip this seat from red to blue. My name is Sarah Godlewski, and I'm a Democrat running for the United States Senate to replace Republican Senator Ron Johnson in Wisconsin — who officially announced he's running for re-election. I promise this isn’t another campaign email asking you for money. I’m only asking for a moment to explain why our race is so important — not just to the people of Wisconsin, but to the future of our entire country. (If you're ready to help us defeat Ron Johnson, add your name here.) Wisconsin will be the tipping point for Senate control. With our Democratic Senate majority hanging in the balance by just one seat, all eyes will be on our race. CNN has already called Ron Johnson the most vulnerable GOP Senator up in 2022, and The Cook Political Report moved Wisconsin from Lean Republican to Toss-Up. Our race is heating up, and it comes as no surprise. Ron Johnson has been busy undermining COVID-19 vaccination efforts, calling climate change "bullsh--," downplaying the severity of the violent insurrection at our nation's Capitol, and more. The Washington Post even gave the guy four pinocchios for his "campaign of vaccine misinformation." It’s outrageous that this guy is still in office. If we can take down Ron Johnson, we can protect and expand our Democratic Senate majority. Let's not kid ourselves, however. Beating a two-term incumbent won’t be easy. Heck, Joe Biden only won Wisconsin by about 20,000 votes. But I have a track record of defeating powerful Republicans in statewide elections. I intend to defeat Ron Johnson, too. With Donald Trump’s full endorsement and national Republicans all lined up to protect him, it's going to take a real grassroots effort to beat this guy. We’ll need all hands on deck. That’s why I’m personally asking you to join our campaign today. Wisconsin will be one of the most closely watched races in the country, which means defeating Ron Johnson and expanding our Democratic Senate majority will require a national effort. Please join EMILY's List and grassroots supporters across the country to show your support for our campaign as we work to flip this Senate seat from red to blue: As a fifth-generation Wisconsinite, State Treasurer, working mom, daughter of two public school teachers, and product of a proud union home, I couldn’t be more different than Ron Johnson. When I first ran for public office, it wasn't for fame, money, or power — it was because politicians like Scott Walker slammed the door on workers and families. Wisconsinites deserved to have someone fighting for their best interests, not bending to the will of wealthy donors and corporate interests. Together, I know we can replace Ron Johnson with someone who will work to restore voting rights, create good-paying union jobs, defend abortion rights, lower the cost of prescription drugs, raise the minimum wage — and end the filibuster if that’s what it takes to get the job done. That's why I decided to run for U.S. Senate, and it’s why I’m humbly asking you to join me in this campaign. We all deserve better than Ron Johnson. In the coming weeks, my team and I would love to send you meaningful action alerts, the latest news on our race in Wisconsin, and, yes, the occasional (I promise!) request for a small grassroots contribution. This toss-up race will determine control of the U.S. Senate — so my hope is that you'll join our movement not just for today, but for the critical months ahead. Our race is too important to sit out, and Ron Johnson is too dangerous to get another six years in Washington. With your help, we can defeat him and get this seat working for Wisconsin families again. Thanks for reading, and thanks for all you do to support progressive causes. — Sarah Sarah Godlewski Democrat for the U.S. Senate Wisconsin
