Dear Friends,

If asked to list the "funniest countries," would you think of Germany? Chances are you're familiar with the cultural stereotype of Germans having a rather unique sense of humor. The latest episode of The Big Ponder examines comedy and humor in German culture, and explores what Germans find funny.

This Friday, February 11, join us for a virtual performance from artist Janne Kummer for the Jemand Society project. The Jemand Society – the word jemand is German for someone – engages artists and thinkers who interpret our present world by speculating how it will be viewed in the future.

The Create.Connect.Amplify. discussion series with curator Dian Holton continues on February 25. Jennifer White-Johnson, a disability activist and artist-educator, will join Holton in a conversation about accessibility in design and fighting ableism in visual culture.

If you are interested in registering for German courses beginning in February, there is still time! Check out our full course listings for in-person, virtual, and online course options to find out more.
