UPDATE: The Independent reports, "Repeat STOCK Act violator Senator Tommy
Tuberville calls trading ban for Congress 'ridiculous.'"
But guess what -- a recent report by Insider showed that "Sen. Tuberville
has violated the STOCK Act 132 times totaling at least $894,000." The
STOCK Act is an earlier attempt to prevent members of Congress from using
nonpublic information they learn in their official capacity for their
personal benefit.

YESTERDAY'S EMAIL:
In 2020, a Republican senator from Georgia used confidential info about
COVID to invest in body bags.
We defeated that senator. But the corruption remains.
This week, Senators Elizabeth Warren and Jon Ossoff, and Reps. Pramila
Jayapal and Andy Kim (among others), are pushing new legislation to ban
members of Congress, their families, and other top government officials
from buying and selling individual stocks.

die. Can you sign on as a supporter of banning insider trading in
Congress?
Our government relations team -- P Street, the progressive alternative to
K Street -- is leading a coalition of a dozen organizations that are
engaging House and Senate offices on this issue.
Warren's bill was introduced today with bipartisan support, including
Republican senators from Tennessee and Montana!
Just today, Speaker Pelosi signaled her support for action on this issue.
Momentum is growing by the day. But we're up against some very powerful
people. It will take the voices of voters to pressure Congress to end
insider trading and self-dealing in the halls of the Capitol.
[ [link removed] ]This is a moment where public outcry can get this across the finish
line. Can you sign on as a supporter today? (On the page, you will have
the option of sharing a comment with the media.)
Thanks for being a bold progressive.
