Do you think Congress should ban assault weapons?

John, we're only a few days away from the anniversary of the Parkland shooting, when a former student entered a high school campus, armed with an AR-15-style weapon, and killed 17 people.
Assault rifles like the one Parkland's gunman used have become the weapon of choice for some of the deadliest mass shootings in our country's history — and we have to stop pretending the gun itself doesn't make a difference. It only takes minutes to commit a massacre with a weapon of war and we know that banning them will reduce instances of gun violence. But the NRA and Mitch McConnell love them — and have been blocking legislation to ban assault weapons for decades.

That's why we're reaching out now. We need a surge of grassroots support to finally ban assault weapons again, keep up our fight to defeat the NRA, and end gun violence. But your response is missing from our official poll, and we can only keep it open until 11:59 p.m. tonight. Please, tell us:
