DIGITAL PETITION:

Tell President Biden to nominate a Supreme Court justice with a demonstrated history and passion for climate justice and conservation!

Friend,

Stephen Breyer’s retirement announcement has kicked off a frenzy around who might replace him on the Supreme Court.

We couldn’t be more excited to see President Biden recommit to his campaign promise to nominate a Black woman to the Supreme Court.

But we have one more critical demand:

Any Supreme Court nominee MUST have a demonstrated history and passion for climate justice and conservation. If you agree, please take a moment to sign our petition:

This month, the Supreme Court is expected to hear oral arguments on a case that could completely override the Environmental Protection Agency’s ability to regulate greenhouse gas emissions.

The potential impact of this ruling is monumental.

And while we can’t rely on the Court’s current conservative majority to do the right thing and protect our climate, we can – and MUST – do everything in our power to ensure that our new Supreme Court justice understands the stakes in this climate crisis.

That’s why we’re building pressure and momentum to demand that President Biden’s new nominee has a history and passion for environmental justice and conservation.

We’re looking to collect at least 1,000 signatures on this petition – can we count on you to add your name today?

The power that this Court has to determine our collective climate future is enormous. We can’t afford to have any regrets.

Thank you for your time.
