We don't know if you saw this, but one of the nation’s top loan servicers, Navient, settled with borrowers in Ohio [[link removed]] based on the fact that they “practiced unfair and deceptive loan servicing."

What's even more menacing is that they promised “to help borrowers find affordable repayment options but instead steered financially strapped borrowers into costly, long-term repayment plans.”

We need a change in student loan financing. Can you chip in so we can make that a reality? [[link removed]]

For a very long time, our higher education system has been preying on folks who are just trying to get ahead in life with their college degrees. Now, folks are absolutely trapped with this debt, sometimes unable to get a job in their field.

The callousness of loan servicers like Navient really underscores just how much students are up against as they look to head to college. It can be confusing and downright scary to know that you have to take out mountains of loans just to stay in school.

This isn’t just affecting young people anymore – so many folks are delaying buying a home or saving for an emergency because they carry the weight of student loans. It's time to change this.

Education is a right. When Jeff is in Washington, he will work to address this crisis head-on. Can you help us make Jeff a voice for Ohioans in Washington? [[link removed]]
