Friend – We wanted to check in and give you a quick campaign update since the North Carolina Supreme Court struck down the GOP’s partisan gerrymandered maps last week.
Here are three things you should know:
1. The Legislature has two weeks to redraw the maps to be fairer. There’s a lot of uncertainty about what these maps will mean for Jasmine’s race. But we know one thing to be true: Jasmine has what it takes to flip Western North Carolina blue.
2. There’s a strong possibility that Cawthorn will re-file to run in our district. We need to be ready for that possibility and the fact that Western North Carolina remains ground zero for his extremist takeover plan.
3. Organizing Everywhere is at the center of our campaign. Between hosting a day of action on February 19th and ramping up our fundraising efforts, we’re getting prepared for whatever happens next.
We have to prove that we have what it takes to defeat Cawthorn and his toxic brand of politics should he come back to Western North Carolina, and we’re counting on your grassroots support to help.
Will you please chip in $25 or more towards our $10,000 Rapid Response Fund goal? We’ve reached the halfway point to the FEC deadline, when we will have to publicly report our fundraising numbers.
Together, we’re going to replace Cawthorn’s toxic brand of politics with Jasmine’s vision for love, hope, and empathy.
– Luke
