The COVID pandemic has driven home the dire need for tackling the root causes of the global justice and rule of law crisis. Women and girls face ever higher barriers to fair treatment. Journalists and investigators struggle to track the billions of dollars spent to keep health systems afloat. Minority communities vulnerable to environmental harm scramble to find safer ground to live in peace and dignity.

At heart, these problems share a common feature - weak and unaccountable governance and failure to respect fundamental rights.

As we move beyond this global crisis, we all have a part to play in building more just communities by coming together to share lessons learned, identify promising approaches, and turn good ideas into concrete action. At this year’s World Justice Forum (May 30 - June 2), hundreds of changemakers, policy experts, and youth, government and business leaders will gather in The Hague and online for three days of agenda-setting, learning, and action to steer a path toward more and better justice for all, as promised by the Sustainable Development Goals.

World Justice Forum participants will hear about impactful projects and promising trends including:
* tech solutions to address delays in court hearings
* alternative paths to resolving land disputes
* crowd-sourcing safer neighborhoods for women and girls
* and dozens of other practical ways to ensure that progress toward sustainable development gets back on track.

As a centerpiece of the World Justice Forum 2022, the Justice Expo ([link removed]) is an open space at the World Forum venue in The Hague for participants to exhibit innovative and original content on justice and the rule of law. Exhibitors will showcase their work and engage with other participants in an informal and interactive setting. Projects and organizations of all types are encouraged to participate, including governments, international organizations, civil society organizations, universities, publishers, artists, entrepreneurs, and businesses. World Justice Challenge Finalists Coming Soon

The World Justice Challenge ([link removed]) is a global prize competition to identify, recognize and promote good practices and high-impact projects and policies that protect and advance the rule of law in three categories: access to justice, open government, and equal rights. This year, WJP received a total of 305 submissions from 118 countries. This impressive group of changemakers are tackling issues ranging from combating gender-based violence to checking COVID corruption and empowering people to confront racial and ethnic discrimination. Other key themes in this year’s group of finalists include disability rights, environmental justice, youth leadership, the right to information, and customary and informal justice systems.

Over the past two months, WJP and its partners ([link removed]) have been carefully reviewing applications to select the top 30 finalists. These projects, and more, will be featured at the Forum’s Justice Expo ([link removed]) space. Keep an eye out for the announcement of finalists in your inbox in March, and plan on meeting them at World Justice Forum 2022.
