Redistricting for the November midterms is underway at a breakneck pace.

Across the country, state legislatures, independent redistricting commissions, and the courts are radically reshaping congressional districts for the next decade as Democrats’ slim House majority hangs in the balance.

And while the details vary from state to state, one truth is evident: the number of competitive House districts is dwindling. That’s bad for the country.

So my campaign is focused on doing everything possible to hold our Democratic majorities in Washington this November. We’ll be concentrating our efforts in a handful of highly competitive districts and Senate races, which makes your support even more impactful.

I’m asking: Please make a $10 contribution to my campaign to help me defend our majorities in Washington — our Democratic agenda depends on it.

In Alabama, the Republican legislature passed a redistricting map packing a majority of the state’s Black voters — more than one-quarter of the population — into just one of seven House districts.

After a coalition of groups including the NAACP and ACLU successfully sued in federal court to redraw the maps with a second Black-majority district, Alabama’s attorney general appealed and the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in Republicans’ favor to keep the gerrymandered map, threatening yet another clause of the already-weakened Voting Rights Act .

It’s the same battle playing out in state after state, where partisan political advantage can come at the expense of equal representation for Black Americans, Native Americans, students, and other marginalized voting groups.

Keeping our House and Senate majorities is imperative to passing federal voting protections, including not just voting rights but also reigning in the outsized and unequal influence of gerrymandering over the House and state legislatures.

If you’re as committed as I am to fixing gerrymandering, please chip in $10 today to help me defend our Democratic majorities.
