Dr. Shirley Weber is a lifelong academic and equal rights advocate. She served in California’s State Assembly for almost a decade before becoming California’s first Black Secretary of State last year.

She is acutely aware of the issues faced by disenfranchised communities this Black History Month – and she has a message to share:
