John, I've been saying for quite a while that Trump's influence is fading and
you just saw a great example of that this week.

 

The Republican National Committee (RNC) censured Reps. Cheney & Kinzinger for
serving on the bipartisan Jan. 6th investigative committee and more
importantly, included language that labeled the 1/6/21 insurrection as
"legitimate political discourse."

 

Mitch McConnell and many other Republican leaders, some who have been silent
about this in the past, spoke out condemning the RNC and stated plainly the
truth that January 6th was really a violent attempt to stop the peaceful
transfer of power after a presidential election.Take a listen for yourself here

As the cracks in Trump's influence widen, we can expect to see more and more
Republicans speak out against his lying and toxic attempts to continue dividing
America for his own personal gain. Sure, we wish they would have stood up to
him years ago, but it's good to see more people finding their voice and
speaking the truth about the events that day.

I believe that in large part due to gerrymandering, Republicans stand a good
chance at winning back the U.S. House this year, but I'm not so sure about the
U.S. Senate, and Trump is increasingly looking like a liability to that goal.
That is why you are seeing McConnell and others speaking out so forcefully
about moving on from Trump's 2020 loss and focusing on the future of the
Republican Party.
