I want to share with you some numbers that have been at the top of my mind ever since we officially announced that Cori is running for re-election.
Hi John — it’s Morgan, I’m Team Cori’s Political Director.
I want to share with you some numbers that have been at the top of my mind ever since we officially announced that Cori is running for re-election. You’re a core part of our movement and it’s important to us that you understand what we’re up against in this midterms election.
Here’s how much money Republicans raised to challenge Cori’s Squad Sisters and progressive colleagues in Congress in 2020:
- $12.1 million (Lacy Johnson, challenging Ilhan Omar)
- $11.1 million (John Cummings, challenging Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez)
Here’s how many points Cori won her first race by:
These numbers are an urgent reminder that we can’t take anything for granted this election, John. Dark money super PACs, ultra-conservative groups, and Wall Street are prepared to pump millions into our race in an effort to weaken our progressive movement and block Cori’s chances of re-election.
That’s why today I’m reaching out personally to ask for your support, John. Together, we can keep Cori in office: Will you chip in $13.17 (our average donation) or anything you can to support our grassroots funded re-election campaign?

From the moment Cori stepped foot in Congress, the far-right has made attacking Cori a core plank in their agenda. White supremacists have made countless violent threats on Cori’s life. The GOP will do everything in its power to keep Cori from being re-elected because they're threatened by the progressive movement she’s leading.
And it’s not just the GOP getting involved. Their friends on Wall Street are prepared to spend big money to attack Cori. There’s no doubt they’re going to spend millions to smear us as “too radical” and stop us from bringing our people-first agenda to Congress.
That’s why we need to be prepared, John. Victory in 2020 was made possible by supporters like you who gave us the people-power we needed to defeat a 20 year-incumbent. Together, we demanded the change our communities deserve and sent the first activist from the movement in defense of Black lives to Congress.
Will you chip in $13.17 (our average donation) or anything you can today to help us prepare for the flood of dark money the GOP and special interests plan on spending in this race? We don’t accept a single cent from corporate PACs and special interest groups — we’re relying on donations from everyday folks to do this work.
Let’s do this,
Morgan
Political Director, Team Cori
