Dear John,

You've made it day 3: Delay! This is one everyone can do.

Even if you can’t act inthe moment, you can make a difference for the person who has been harassed bychecking in on them after the fact, otherwise known as Delay. Many types of harassment happen in passing or very quickly, in which case you can wait until the situation is over and speak to the person who was being harassed then.

Here are some ways to actively use the tactic of Delay:

Ask them if they’re okay and tell them you’re sorry that happened to them.
Offer to accompany them to their destination or sit with them for awhile.
Share [2] resourceswith them and offer to help them make a report -- only if they want to.
If you’ve documented the incident, ask them if they want you to send it to them.

Have you ever experienced harassment? One way to get ready to intervene is to share your own story with others first. Sharing your story can be hard, which is why we allow for anonymous storytelling on our free platform. You can [3] share your story hereor [4] download our free appand share your story on the go.

You got this.

love,
Hollaback!
