Mary Gay is making a difference every day that she is in office.

After pressure from Team MGS, The Department of Education announced that $200 million dollars from the American Rescue Plan will be spent to support students' basic needs including hunger, and schools will use the FAFSA data to communicate with students who qualify. This policy change will have a real impact on children and young adults across Pennsylvania who’ve been struggling to pay for food, or get their nutritional needs met through charitable food programs.

Over 1.35 million people in Pennsylvania struggle with food insecurity, but now thanks to Mary Gay’s hard work, some of those folks will have relief.

When Mary Gay sees a problem that needs solving, she gets it done.
