Dear John,

Anyone who listens to the rhetoric coming out of Washington, DC would think it’s impossible for Democrats, Republicans and Independents to cooperatively exist in the same organization.

And yet, we do. You and me and the other million+ members and supporters of the National Committee to Preserve Social Security & Medicare run the political gamut. That’s because what we’re fighting for transcends party lines.

It’s an everyday, money for living, affordable medicine, access to care issue. It’s our Social Security and Medicare benefits. The benefits we’ve paid for and earned. And the benefits we must continue to defend and strengthen.

Please support the National Committee’s urgent fight to improve your standard of living by boosting Social Security, improving the annual Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA), ensuring access to dental, hearing and vision care, and lowering prescription drug prices by making a donation of $10 or $5 today.

The likelihood of any of these measures being enacted by Congress declines dramatically without your involvement and that of other concerned older adults across the country. In fact, it’s very possible that the Social Security and Medicare benefits you are counting on in retirement would be greatly reduced (or even eliminated!) if not for the efforts of the National Committee … and we could not have done it without you.

Our work is labor-intensive and expensive, and the more you can give, the more we can do.

So please, with so much hanging in the balance that could impact whether your benefits are reduced or strengthened in the coming months, help us wage a winning battle for Social Security and Medicare’s future by chipping in a gift in whatever amount you can afford today!

Sincerely,

Max Richtman
President & CEO
