This week, the Republican Party officially declared that the Capitol Insurrection on January 6th—the greatest attack on our democracy since the Civil War—is “legitimate political discourse.”

That isn’t a joke. The Republican Party is censuring members of their own party for investigating the attack on January 6th, which they now claim to be a peaceful protest.

We can’t sit back and let Republicans rewrite history and undermine our democracy. Especially here in Texas, where Republicans are trying to gerrymander, suppress, and subvert the will of voters to stay in office. Friend, over the last two years Texas Republicans have passed a massive voter suppression law, gerrymandered maps to pick their own voters, and have launched a fake audit of the 2020 election results. They did all of this under the guise of Donald Trump’s Big Lie.

Now, they’re trying to rewrite the history of a violent coup attempt. They don’t care that the Capitol was ransacked, that members of Congress were forced to hide in closets, or that Capitol Police officers were brutally beaten until they died. To them, that’s “legitimate political discourse.”

We’re calling BS. Ground Game Texas is putting organizers across the state of Texas—registering new voters, putting progressive policies on the ballot, and mobilizing voters to unseat corrupt politicians. But we need your help.
