We can’t afford to lose this seat in the Senate. John, The Democrats’ Senate majority is razor-thin: Vice President Kamala Harris acts as the “tie-breaker” in a 50-50 divided Senate. We’ve seen how gridlocked Congress has been because of Republican obstruction and the unwillingness to get anything done on the part of Senate Democrats like Joe Manchin. But even less will be accomplished if we lose the Senate this year—including filling crucial judicial vacancies that will unwind much of the damage of four years of Donald Trump. That’s what makes this headline in Colorado Politics so disconcerting: “Internal polling released Tuesday by Republican U.S. Senate candidate Eli Bremer's campaign shows President Joe Biden and Democratic U.S. Sen. Michael Bennet underwater with Colorado voters 13 months before the 2022 election, leading Bremer's pollster to suggest the state's Senate race could be more competitive than forecasters have predicted.” Democrats need to turn out everywhere in Colorado; it’s another reason why we must organize to defeat extremists like Lauren Boebert. If we concede these parts of the state to the worst of the Republican Party, it could have terrible ripple effects—like Sen. Michael Bennett losing reelection by a small margin. We are building the digital infrastructure to reach thousands of new voters, and investing in the organizations on the ground who are registering voters and turning them out.
