Finally a pipe Joe Biden supports...

Washington Free Beacon (2/7/22) reports: "The Biden administration is set to fund the distribution of crack pipes to drug addicts as part of its plan to advance 'racial equity.' The $30 million grant program, which closed applications Monday and will begin in May, will provide funds to nonprofits and local governments to help make drug use safer for addicts. Included in the grant, which is overseen by the Department of Health and Human Services, are funds for 'smoking kits/supplies' A spokesman for the agency told the Washington Free Beacon that these kits will provide pipes for users to smoke crack cocaine, crystal methamphetamine, and 'any illicit substance.' HHS said the kits aim to reduce the risk of infection when smoking substances with glass pipes, which can lead to infections through cuts and sores. Applicants for the grants are prioritized if they treat a majority of 'underserved communities,' including African Americans and 'LGBTQ+ persons,' as established under President Joe Biden's executive order on 'advancing racial equity.'...It is against federal law to distribute or sell drug paraphernalia unless authorized by the government. President Biden's son Hunter is a longtime user of crack cocaine."

"If Gov. Newsom and state leaders really want to do something to help struggling Californians make ends meet in these tough economic times, reforming state government energy mandates to give working families more affordable choices is a good place to start."

A real-world example of Greenflation. A $19,000 increase in a family farms fertilizer bill. Seriously, this is not a joke, Joe Biden.

Center for the American Experiment (2/8/22) article "Regular readers of American Experiment know that I’ve been very concerned about the skyrocketing price of fertilizer. There’s a very personal reason for this worry; my dad still operates the family farm I grew up on in Wisconsin and the soaring cost of inputs will have a big impact on his business. Our farm was never big by modern standards. At its largest, the farm was 500 acres and during the course of my childhood, we raised corn, soybeans, hay, dairy cattle, beef cattle, and hogs. The scope of the operation has been scaled back as Dad’s gotten older, and he currently farms about 300 acres. I talked to him last week and he said that the price of fertilizer is through the roof. Dad uses 40 tons of fertilizer for the 300 acres he farms. He paid $370 per ton of Urea last year. This year, he paid $860 per ton. This means his annual fertilizer bill jumped from about $15,000 in 2021 to $34,000 in 2022, a $19,000 increase year-over-year...Making matters worse is Russia’s decision to ban exports of fertilizer for the next two months. This is significant because Russia is the world’s largest exporter of fertilizers, and while the United States does not directly purchase Russian fertilizer, the export ban will put upward pressure on global fertilizer prices. Unfortunately, food prices will continue to increase foreseeable future."

Energy interventionism end-stage = rationing. Welcome to the "energy transition"...

Express (2/8/22) reports: "Up to 1.4 million families in the UK have been offered to try a scheme as the country prepares for a green revolution. Commencing on Friday, the National Grid has launched a project that will offer to pay households if they are able to cut their power use by between 40 percent and 60 percent below normal levels during a set two-hour period. The move is intended to be an experimental scheme that could soon pave the way for a major overhaul of the country's billing system as the UK transitions from dirty fossil fuels. For families that are participating in this scheme, they may have to postpone a laundry cycle or a dishwasher load at certain times of the day when demand on the UK’s power grid is typically high. These times include between 9am and 11am and again between 4.30pm and 6.30pm...Experts predict a soaring demand for electricity as more people purchase electric cars and replace their gas-fired boilers for electric heat pumps, as part of the Government’s push to cut carbon emissions."
