Team-

The right to access abortion isn't real unless it is available to
everyone. Yet in the United States, hundreds of state-level laws
restricting and banning abortion have made this time-sensitive care
extremely difficult, if not impossible, to access for people across
the country.

Equal access to abortion-everywhere-is essential. That's
why we're hard at work with our partners and allies in the U.S. Senate
to pass the Women's Health Protection Act (WHPA) and protect abortion
under federal law.

The House of Representatives already passed this critical
legislation in a historic vote last fall. We must double down in our
efforts to protect abortion access for all.

In states across the country, patients seeking abortion care are
forced to travel hundreds of miles, often crossing state lines, after
waiting what could be weeks for an appointment. In some states, they
have to return to the clinic multiple times, are subjected to biased
"counseling," or undergo invasive, medically unnecessary procedures
before they can receive the abortion care they need. Many have to take
time off work or pay for travel expenses or child care so they can
attend their appointments.

It's clear that while abortion is protected under Roe v. Wade, state
politicians have legislated abortion almost completely out of reach
for communities across the United States. If Roe was overturned, half
the states in the U.S. could take action to ban abortion entirely,
making abortion care even more difficult to access.

You know that we're already in the midst of an abortion access
crisis. The U.S. Supreme Court is set to issue a decision later this
year that could change the future of abortion rights in the United
States in our case challenging a Mississippi abortion ban-a case
that poses a direct challenge to Roe.

We need protections for abortion access at the highest levels. We need
WHPA-we can't wait.
